Billy believes that professional lobbyists are something everyday people need to have access to and he has been working to make that a reality through Lobbyists 4 Good. When he returned home, he wanted to continue impacting policy, so he found a job with the Department of Agriculture and later worked for an advocacy group in Washington, D.C. During his time abroad, he helped the government of Vanuatu implement important changes to their health care system that benefited the lives of thousands of people around the country. Billy became passionate about government and policy during his time as a Peace Corps volunteer in the small island nation of Vanuatu.
He lives in Charlotte with his wife Natalie.īilly is the co-founder and CEO of Lobbyists 4 Good, the first ever crowdfunding platform that enables everyday citizens to hire lobbyists. Court looks for any opportunity to get on his paddleboard and loves doing Spartan races. He recently launched Connection Coin which allows people to connect by giving coins with positive sayings and inspiration to each other, then tracking the interactions and posts through a mobile application based on each coin having a unique pin number. Court is also the author of Blue Goat, a book about shifting our focus from worrying about everything going on in the world around us, to finally taking a moment to look in the mirror. Prior to his work as a financial advisor, Court was a financial analyst for the US Embassies in Western Europe, Africa, and South America.
From his financial work he has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, MSN Money, Dow Jones and had a weekly segment on Charlotte’s Fox News called “Money Mondays”. In establishing Parent Financial, his mission was to create a team of advisors whose sole focus is to help families by providing a safe place to have their questions answered and their financial needs met.
She credits Seven with giving her a place to flourish, where it was “cool to be smart.”Ĭourt is the Founder of Parent Financial, a financial planning firm that specializes in life and disability income insurance for parents and families. Looking back, Michele remembers Severn fondly for the excellent education and lasting friendships. She has also volunteered with a variety of with grassroots organizations to strengthen voting rights and reform the way elections are funded. She is especially proud of MIRA’s naturalization and asylum work, helping protect immigrants who would be seriously harmed because of their political beliefs, religious beliefs, gender and other reasons if they were returned to their home countries. In addition to her scientific research, Michele and her attorney husband founded MIRA Legal, an immigration law firm in Nashville, TN. Her discoveries have been published in top peer-reviewed scientific journals and covered by national and international media outlets, including NPR’s Science Friday. Her research focuses on how the visual system integrates sensory information with ongoing perceptual, motor, and cognitive processes.
